Vinyl wallpapers are resistant
Vinyl wallpapers are very popular thanks to their high surface resistant and easy maintenance. Wallpapers are fully washable, abrasion resistant, resistant to mechanical damage (scratching) and partially heat-insulated. Because of their high wash-ability, vinyl wallpapers are also suitable for damp areas such as bathrooms or kitchens. Vinyl wallpapers are made of PVC (plastic). The backside of the vinyl wallpaper can be either paper or vlies. In addition, the top layer of the wallpaper can also be made in a foam design. Vinyl wallpapers can also be used on cracked and crooked walls because they have a textured surface, which help cover the imperfections of the walls.
The preparation and pasting the vinyl wallpaper on the wall
- Carefully clean the walls of the room and adjust the unevenness, eg. by a balancing material. Remove the old wallpapers and water-soluble paint preferably with water. Formica and various coatings abrade and degrease well. Do not paste vinyl wallpaper to wet wall, a mold may form under the wallpaper. In classical prefab bathrooms, you can increase the durability of vinyl wallpaper by professional pasting. If is the surface dry and tough, you can approach the pasting. On a fresh plaster or spatula applied a primer. You can make the surface penetration with a wallpaper paste according to the enclosed instructions.
- Good glue is decisive for quality processing. If vinyl wallpapers are heavy or paste on a non-absorbent surface, use a special adhesive that you can prepare in a thicker consistency. We recommend Beeline glue to paste vinyl wallpaper to the wall.
- If the vinyl wallpaper has a back side made of paper, we do the same as with paper wallpaper. (apply the paste directly to the wallpaper, let the wallpaper swell and apply the mackle on the wall before paste the wallpaper.) Wallpaper with the back side made of vlies keeps its size, so applied the paste directly to the wall. In all kinds of vinyl wallpapers, can moisture escape only towards the wall (given that the front of the vinyl wallpaper is made of plastic). The length of the wallpaper strip on the wall = the height of the room + 0.05 m addition on the top and bottom to make the wallpaper even. When wallpapers have a pattern, a roll always put so, that the beginning of the pattern followed. You should mark the top of the wallpaper with a pencil so that the wallpaper strip cannot be overturned during the pasting. Paste the wallpaper strips from the window towards the door. Use a plumb line to mark the vertical line in advance. Paste the wallpapers on the wall close to each other, just in the corners and trouble places you can paste them over each other. Apply the paste to the wallpaper and surface with a spreading roller. Coat the wallpaper and fold the backside on the backside so that the adhesive soaks evenly to the entire wallpaper. Attention! The wallpaper soak time is 5-7 minutes!! If the soaking time is longer than recommended, wallpaper will stretch. Only 1-2 stripes prepare in advance. Ensure that the length of the paste on the wallpaper is the same for all coated stripes. Place the first strip to the wall and press it with your hands against the wall. To avoid air bubbles, smooth the wallpaper from the center to the edges by a wallpaper brush (by its lightly tapping get the seams together). The excesses cut off by a cutter with an aid of a ruler. Adhesive residues remove as soon as possible by a clean piece of clothing. When pasting over the sockets and switches, turn the electric current off, unscrew the cover, paste the wallpaper and then cut the hole. When pasting a window niches, let the wallpaper overhang and then cut it off precisely. Next to the radiators, fold the wallpaper about 10-15 cm. The ceilings rather do in the pair. When pasting vinyl wallpaper to a formica core, it is good to mix a dispersion adhesive to the paste. When renovating bathrooms and showers, it is advisable to spread each joint after pasting with a clean dispersion (eg Duvilax LS50) and fill the especially exposed joints with colorless sanitary silicone. This investment will surely pay. Equip bath, washbasin or shower with appropriate seals. . Do not paste the wallpapers on the wall with opened window or door and do not turn off the heater - if the water dries soon, the bubbles and wrinkles shows up.
